In the years 1850 and 1851, he demonstrated the daily rotation of the Earth about its axis using a pendulum. The famous "Foucault's Pendulum" experiment took place in 1851 in the Pantheon in Paris. The Pendulum wire was 67 m long and pendulum ball weighed 28 kg.
